Skin concern guide

Heat and humidity make oil feel more noticeable: sebum flows more easily when it's warm, and sweat mixes with it on the surface. Then the air-con kicks in at the office or mall, drawing water out of the skin. Many people respond by washing more often with harsher cleansers — which strips the skin and can make it feel tight and look shinier soon after.
The goal isn't to remove every drop of oil. It's to keep skin clean and well hydrated with light textures, so it doesn't feel like it needs to overcompensate.
The routine
Morning
Cleanse
A gentle, low-pH gel or foam. Skip harsh, squeaky-clean washes.
Hydrate
A watery toner pressed in with the palms.
Treat
A niacinamide serum to help with shine and the look of pores.
Protect
A gel or fluid sunscreen with a matte or natural finish.
Evening
Double cleanse
Oil or balm cleanser to dissolve sunscreen, then your gentle foam.
Hydrate
Toner or essence.
Treat
BHA two to three nights a week, or niacinamide again.
Moisturise
A light gel-cream. Yes, even oily skin needs one.
Extra
Clay mask
Once a week on the T-zone for 10 minutes, rinsed off before it fully dries.

Look for

Avoid
Skipping moisturiser
Dehydrated skin can look shinier. A gel-cream is usually all you need.
Over-washing
Twice a day is plenty. Rinse with water if you're sweaty in between.
Heavy powder layers
Blot first, then a tiny bit of powder only where needed.
Alcohol-heavy toners
That tight, matte feeling doesn't last — and often comes back shinier.
